Waking Up Strong

When the devil tries to take your life and God wakes you up, he will say to you, "Wake up strong." He says those words because he does not want you to wake up with any of the limitations the devil placed on you when he put you to sleep. When you are put to sleep, the mere fact that the devil had control over you places you in a position of vulnerability, and makes you subject to the weaknesses that are on him. The Lord wants to ensure that you leave those behind when you awaken.

Every time you fall asleep naturally, you also are subject to negative spiritual influences while you are asleep, and as you awaken. Take a moment now and ask the Holy Spirit that is in you to command the Lord to tell your spirit every time you fall asleep, and as you awaken, to "Wake up strong." This command to the spirit is a command that embraces body, mind and spirit, for when the spirit is strong, the mind is strong, and when the spirit is strong, the body is strong.

Knowing that he has a command from the Lord to wake up strong is confirmation of the eternal nature of the spirit. The spirit knows that whenever he falls asleep, he always will awaken. He knows that death will never have the final word. He knows that if eternity's gates are always open, he always will be welcomed. He knows that if the Lord his God will never fall asleep in death, he too will never die. He too will be eternity's child. He too will laugh at death and know that life can never cease to be and never can the chains of death restrain the flow of love.
