When we think of God, we don't ever expect him to be in a place where he cannot see or hear us because God, in our estimation, is supposed to be everywhere, to see all, to know all. But that concept of omnipresence is a fallacy.
God does not see what happens in hell, nor does he see what happens to those who do not have the indwelling Holy Spirit. He may sporadically hear their prayers, if Satan does not succeed in blocking them, and he will respond if the answers themselves are not blocked, but without the presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit, his powers are limited. If you want God to see and know everything that happens to you, ask him to give you his indwelling Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can be your guide and protector for all eternity.
