Love Must Be Free

I love the Lord God Holy Spirit Of God with every fiber of my being, and yet the relationship feels like hatred. How is it possible that love can feel like hatred? Love becomes hate when we love too much and for all the wrong reasons, when we are afraid of losing control, when we are afraid of having the other person know the depth of our love, and  when we believe that we will die if they reject our love.

Love can be love only and exclusively when it is freely given, without any contingencies, without repercussions, and without regret, regardless of the other person's response. Love can be love only when it is free.
