Having It All

There was a time when I knew that I could have anything I wanted in life. I believed that I was my mother’s favorite child, though others may have felt the same. I believed that God was near. I sometimes felt that I could touch him. I knew that my friends would never betray me, and they never did. I had a girlfriend who would never dream of looking at another man. In my estimation, I had everything I could possibly want, but what I did not have was the indwelling Holy Spirit Of God.

No one should presume to think that they have everything they need, unless they have the indwelling Holy Spirit Of God. That is the true source of power. That is the one thing that separates us from all of humanity. We are like animals without God’s indwelling Holy Spirit. We are like ships without a rudder, destined to be destroyed against the rocks. We are slated to become as dust. Only with God’s indwelling Holy Spirit do we have life, and hope, and love. The Lord God Almighty is El Shaddai.
